Welcome to the Shire

It's been a stressful few days, so much so that I think this is the first entry without a picture, although I had a classic opportunity to illustrate my change this morning when I heard a strange sound ( well for someone who can hear the M40 from their bed) this morning and looked out of the window to see a herd of cows being driver down the road - hilarious. Been mad busy and in a total haze since Wednesday night. Still can't believe that I can't go back to the old house - and one aspect of down-sizing, I have SO much shite! Taken one load to the tip already (they are not into re-cycling here) which was weird, I am used to 10 bins with a Q of people waiting to unload their Lailandai cuttings, here it was 2 bins, one of which was a new "experimental" bin for GREEN waste - funnily enough this one was empty, and the other one totally full! They still had the obligatory miserable sod working there who seems to take great delight in watching you struggle with heavy loads. Tips are NOT a place for equality! Have managed to see my carpet for the first time since I arrived so I think I am getting there. Mind you nothing to sit on yet as my sofa was too big so went away again. Off shopping tomorrow for more hobbit furniture!

Famous 3

Jenny has had such a tough season that we hardly got to se her, but managed to catch up with her for a end of day drink on the mountain.

Sarah meets Charlie Muffty

Amazing night, walked into the Small Danish, and couldn't believe it when I met the world famous porn star Charlie Muffty. She was uncharacteristically shy so insisted on standing at the back.

The Ski Bum is born!!!!!!!!

I did it! Today was the day that it all became official. In not so glamerous surroundings - Tescos at Bicester Village, I told my Boss that I was "outta here!" I think he was really surprised, which was a bit of a shock as this change was no secret (OK the exact details were!)- perhaps I am more devious than I first thought! I have been really stressed over the last month - a big thanks the TS for putting up with all my moaning, Sally for all the dental contacts and all those who have looked in askance when I have insisted on upmost secrecy (Posh we can now get a billboard poster on the M6 to advertise the "PARTY OF THE DECADE"), but now I have done it I feel great, I can really start to look forward to NZ and all the skiing! It's a bit scary though......this will be the first time I haven't had an income since I left Uni, but some part of me hopes that it wont be the last, and I can get used to not having all the "stuff" Roll on 1st July!

The Bridge Climb

I'm not sure what I actually thought this would be like, but having to stand on some thin metal mesh for 15 minutes whilst I waited for eveyone else to climb up the ladders between lanes 6 & 7 of the highway I did start to feel decidedly ill, however I kept on and here I am 1/2 way up.

1/2 Marathon

Firstly, sorry for the delay Sally, but a VERY big well done. Sally completed the Brighton Half Marathon in under 2.5 hours, but well done also has to go to the support team shown here! It was a hard job shopping and eating full English breakfast while Sally pounded the street of Brighton! Good day had by all, and Sally managed not to fall asleep over lunch!
